I’ve always been enamored with the flowers of early Spring: Magnolia, Poppies, Peonies and Iris.

They bloom with an almost mystical promise of the coming seasons of growth and warmth. Their soft petals gently unfurling with delicate, ruffled beauty, defiantly balancing atop spindly intertwined stems.

I painted this collection in the depths of winter. Each painting holds a tender reminder of the new beginnings and new life coming after this season of rest.
