"Thread of Gold" (Yellow Irises) In Greek mythology, Iris is the goddess of rainbows - a link between the heavens and the mortal world. The yellow iris is said to represent hope and new beginnings. I see them as a representation of the invisible threads that connect us to those we've lost, and the ones they were never able to meet. A connection between my Mother, who passed away, and my rainbow daughter (born 5 years later). Their cheerful, ruffling, whimsical beauty always fills me with joy.
